
created by picasa2htmlThis was a day of slight frustration, but lets face it anyday in Yellowstone is wonderful. Lets just call it bad timing. On 3 different occasions we were minutes late for bear sightings. We missed a grizzly at Grizzly Lake by a minute....then we caught a glimpse of a couple grizzlies up on Dunraven Pass but before we could find a place to park they were gone, and then we missed a black bear down in Little America. It had JUST gone over the hill when we pulled up.
I got to watch some baby bighorns playing on the cliffs overlooking the Calcite Springs area though. Its amazing the horseplace that goes on in such a treacherous turain.

created by picasa2htmlThen three of them got together it was obvious they were up to no good. One ewe even wandered away and layed with her back to them as if to say I DONT WANT TO WATCH!

created by picasa2htmlOn our way through Mammoth today we did finally get to see the owls. Mama didnt look like she really enjoyed my company though.


created by picasa2htmlWhile on Dunraven we spotted some bull elk way down in the valley. It was snowing enough to cause some distortion, but come fall some of these guys are going to be monsters.
