Quick drive through Oct. 24th

Well a quick trip through the north part of the park became an overnighter to Cody. Sometimes it's hard to stop driving plus there was good company. Stopped at Mammoth, hoping that #10 would be around but to no avail there was only a couple smaller bulls. This one made a nice friend.

Next we headed to Canyon. Right before we pulled in there was this coyote mousin'.

He was pretty good at it.

Well we decided to trek on to Cody since it was getting late and watched some bison around Mary's Bay. The light was really great. Such great animals.

Then up the road, below Steamboat point, there was a guy with his 500 out so I pulled over. There was a group of 7 otters fishing in a small pool that had been cut off from the lake. All the cutthroat were trapped and these otters were just slaying em.

All in all a nice trip. I got to visit the stone and spend some good time with family.

Can't beat that. Beautiful coat on that coyote and good find on the otters...

Hoggie - For you . . . Here's one of #10 we took earlier in the week near Blacktail Plateau. He was not the least bit concerned with our presence.

Nice pics connie. I heard he was hanging out to the south of Mammoth. Did you see he on the plateau road?

He was right by the main road in the Blacktail Plateau area, not that side drive (it was closed). Just wondering - why is he so popular?

Nice shots.

Thanks for the shots of #10, too. He's one of my favorites because he was very prominent in Mammoth when I made my first trip in 2002 and I got some nice shots of him again last spring. I was hoping to see how much of a rack he's got now.
