Tuesday February 9th

The morning started pretty cold at -11° but once it warmed up the day was pleasant, saw more elk than the prior day but one in the Lamar Valley it is pretty much devoid of elk.

A pack is using the east end of Little America, seem to be to the northwest of the road in the AM then moving southeast by the Lamar River bridge, one black was north of the road in the middle of the canyon.

Near the old picnic area were three wolves,a gray, the black that I saw in that spot last night and a very good looking light colored wolf, way out of range but I took one shot(sorry for the lack of quality)the other two disappeared over the ridge.

Snowshoed out toward the cotton woods, saw three otters

And two bald eagles were perched nearby.

Between Confluence and Hitching post a ram was grazing.

Took off on a search for moose and found one north of Silvergate just as it disappeared in to the trees.

Too many coyotes to count, heard a lot of howling just west of where the wolves were at,probably this guys den as he is constantly seen working the road below.

Near Wraith Falls, two elk bulls were bedded down, and this big bull was feeding in the sun.

All nice, but I really like those eagles in the frosty tree.

Very nice, Mike, it looks like you had a great day in the park.

Your first sentence that said it was -11 really got my attention. That makes your photos all that more impressive...

How cool to see the otters. Minus 11, yikes. I'm not sure I could hold the camera.
