Swan Flats Sow and 4 Cubs - what a show

Postby brentawp on Sun Jun 13, 2010 9:21 pm

Just a few more images from my lucky encounter in Yellowstone with the Swan Flats Grizzly Sow and her four cubs. All shot at a safe distance with a 500mm lens, and some images are cropped in - so be safe.

I second the motion.....Terrific crispness....Outstanding job! I'm particulary fond of the one with the faces of the sow and three cubs....I know how much perserverence it takes to get a shot like that.

Nice series!

Would have given anything to have seen them closer. :( It rained and rained everyday and on the last day when it was sunny, mom had killed an elk and they were quite a ways out on the kill.

We tried repeatedly to see them during our visit last week with no luck. Thanks for at least letting us see what we missed. Great photos.

Beautiful. Just beautiful. I do believe that sow and her four cubs are fast becoming the darlings of Yellowstone.

She does seem to be in line to replace Bear 399 as the most popular, and well known, grizzly mom. Let's wish her, and her brood, well.
