Just booked our first visit for end of May, and I am trying to get as much insight as possible to get the most of our time in and around the park.
I have read a few postings about not being able to find local places to rent camera gear. So I have some info.
I was planning to rent a 150-600 lens to bring along but discovered that Bozeman Camera rents lenses. I contacted them since we are flying into Bozeman, and they couldn't have been more helpful. I am all booked to pick it up upon arrival.
If you are planning to rent a lens and are landing in Bozeman, check them out. They rent other gear too, including tripods. Brian was my contact and he was great.
I am so pleased that I won't have to lug that lens through 2 airports. And I can rent for a shorter period and save a little money.
Please don't tell the critters we're coming. I think they were tipped off last year when we went to the Grand Canyon North Rim, and all we saw was one squirrel. In fact, we didn't even get to see the canyon because it was socked in with fog and rain. Definitely a Mulligan on that one...
